The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim Scholarship
The mountains aren’t the only place to have big adventures - and backpacking is a fundamental skill to develop and hone, no matter if you are at the beginning of your outdoor journey or already a seasoned mountain pro. If you love the idea of pushing yourself in a stunning backcountry paradise that (typically) doesn’t involve snow and ice, the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim Backpack is for you. This bucket list backpacking adventure is open to women and girls 14 years or older.
The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim Scholarship includes the expedition fee for an all-women 5-day Grand Canyon adventure (3 days on the trail plus a night in town before and after), top-notch trail footwear from LOWA Boots, LEKI trekking poles, and more. This scholarship is valued at >$3,000.

As one of the seven natural wonders of the world and one of America’s most beloved National Parks, the Grand Canyon needs no introduction. But did you know that fewer than 1% of all Grand Canyon visitors ever spend a night below the rim? What’s more, we’d argue that you haven’t really seen the Grand Canyon until you’ve hiked across it - and that’s why the Rim-to-Rim hike is the ultimate bucket list backpacking adventure.
-
The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim Backpack is not just a bucket list adventure trip; it is also an excellent foray into remote backcountry travel, endurance, and camping.
The Rim-to-Rim trek will take you on a ~23-mile journey through the heart of the canyon, connecting the canyon’s north and south rims via a monumental traverse through geologic time. Along the way, you will navigate steep inclines, rocky terrain, and potentially extreme weather conditions. The reward for your efforts will be well worth it as you marvel at the dramatic rock formations, colorful cliffs, and stunning vistas that the Grand Canyon has to offer.
