The Nuts and Bolts

If needed, I am willing and able to increase my level of training to meet the requirements for my expedition/adventure.

If selected as a Summit Scholarship recipient, I am willing to write about my experience and share writing & photos with the Summit Scholarship Foundation and the program's sponsors.

I understand that each Summit Scholarship covers the full expedition fee plus LOWA mountaineering footwear and other select gear, and that I will be responsible for making my own travel arrangements to and from the climb's departure city. While a travel stipend is part of most Summit Scholarships, total travel expenses that exceed the amount of the travel stipend must be borne by the scholarship recipient.

I understand that I will be responsible for my own personal gear unless otherwise indicated, and for purchasing my own travel & rescue insurance

Climbing is an inherently risky activity. I understand that I will have to sign an Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability for the Summit Scholarship Foundation and its partner organizations.

I do not have any known medical conditions that prevent me from participating in sustained strenuous physical activities.

I grant the Summit Scholarship Foundation permission to reproduce excerpts from my application as part of the Summit Scholarship program.
